My Students

My students are in a special program where they are learning both high school and college credit. This is a program for which they must interview and be selected. Expectations are high for these scholars, but I must often remind myself that they are still kids, too.

I have taught freshmen for over 29 years and I love this age.

I get to see so many "aha" moments every single day. I have also learned that, unfortunately, not everyone comes to school focused and ready to learn.

My Project

I teach in an urban school where each student is provided with a Chromebook. Quite often, the students lose their chargers and can't afford to replace them or forget to charge their devices at home. If they knew that they had a place to go to fix this issue, things would be much easier.

I would like to provide a charging station in my classroom for students so that they are always prepared and ready to learn with a charged Chromebook.

Right now, many students are missing out on activities and lessons because they aren't able to use their Chromebooks. Also, this would eliminate the necessity of making paper copies for those students.
