Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids have shown so much growth this year; growth as individuals, social growth working in partnerships, and individual accountability. I love each and every one of them. They have transformed from timid, practically nonspeaking kids in September to fully-fledged students with distinct, powerful personalities. They deserve the world.

My Project

Remote learning was an upheaval for the educational system. Long distance learning, while not ideal, is still better than nothing. The pandemic forced districts to allocate funds to increase technological access for its students. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing!

My students' families share everything.

They share their home, their food, their things, and their time. Often times I've heard that many of my students share their school iPad with their siblings for remote learning or working from home. This sharing also extends to their chargers.

My students have started coming in without fully charged iPads, which effects their ability to complete work on time. Funding a small charging station for my classroom will allow for students to charge their iPads here at the beginning of the day so they don't have to worry or fight about charging their iPads at home.
