My students attend a diverse elementary school in a close-knit, urban community. Most of my students attend various programs after school, including the community school program that we have in the building. They receive free breakfast, lunch, and a healthy snack every day. They are eager and excited to learn new things daily. We love to dance, sing, and explore every aspect of our learning with a hands-on approach.
My students thrive on positive feedback and believe that everyone has a gift to share with the world.
My Project
Do you remember the first time that you read a really good book? A book so wonderful that you still think about it? My early readers are beginning to experience that for the first time. I can not express to you the pure joy that they demonstrate when they get to explore a new book.
This project will hopefully inspire all of my learners to find a series that they fall in love with and remember forever.
They will be able to learn new subjects and love new characters. My students would love to have these books in their classroom library. They look forward to reading every day and often choose to do so without prompting. These new series will not only motivate my learners but will inspire all of my kiddos to be able to read more lengthy text.
