This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Memphis, TN. 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics. We have a very dedicated and hard working staff who is motivated to teach and nurture our students. My group of third graders boasts an attendance rate of 98 percent and are very eager to learn. Due to several transitions in our school, we are having to incorporate rigorous interventions to maintain our high academic standards.
My Project
Our classroom goal is to have students to grow one grade level or above. As a classroom teacher, I am dedicated in ensuring that my students meet or exceed their goals. One of the classroom expectations is that students have daily computerized intervention time. Third graders are easily distracted and find it hard to stay focused on their own tasks when they can hear other students on their computers. By donating headphones for my class, you help ensure that each student can effectively participate in computerized interventions without distractions from other students. I want all of my students to have an opportunity to be successful and meet their growth goals. Thank you for investing in our future.
