My Students

My students are super enthusiastic about learning! Our first grade class is in the heart of Chinatown. 100% of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. I have many English language learners and a few special needs students. They love to help and give to one another and learn through team work.

Many of my students enter my classroom with limited understanding and practice of the English language.

I hope to provide materials in color to not only bring more joy into their learning, but help with their English vocabulary acquisition. Learning in color would ultimately benefit my special needs students as well, as they are excited to learn with different visuals and colors to help them process their learning.

My Project

My students are currently using pretty old chairs that have been passed down through the decades. The legs on most of their chairs are unleveled or missing a base on one of most of the legs. Purchasing brand new chairs is a big feat and not something the school or district can offer us at this time.

These pre-cut tennis ball chair socks are perfect solutions to eliminate squeaks, noise, and overall distractions when maneuvering furniture!

It will help provide a safer environment so students can focus on learning rather than trouble and noise with squeaky, unstable, and rocky chairs.
