My Project

My students thrive when they feel safe, comfortable, and supported, and this project is designed to create that kind of environment. A classroom rug will provide a designated space where students can gather for whole-group instruction, partner discussions, and read-alouds. Having a consistent meeting area helps build routine, encourages collaboration, and allows students to stay focused during lessons. In addition, a classroom clock will support students’ understanding of time management—an essential life skill. Being able to visually track time during activities, transitions, and daily routines helps students build independence and responsibility for their learning.

My goal for this project is to create a more structured, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment.

I want my students to feel a sense of belonging when they come together on the rug to learn, share ideas, and grow as a community. At the same time, the clock will help them develop awareness of schedules and expectations, making transitions smoother and maximizing instructional time. Together, these tools will improve classroom organization, increase student engagement, and support both academic and social development.

What makes my students truly special is their curiosity, energy, and eagerness to learn. They come to school each day ready to explore new ideas and support one another, even when learning feels challenging. Many of my students benefit from clear routines and visual supports, and they shine when given opportunities to work together and actively participate. By providing them with a comfortable gathering space and tools to build independence, I am helping them grow not only as learners, but also as confident, capable individuals.
