This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Protecting children is a teacher's number one job, however, there are books that we must allow our students the right to hear, view and read. These books represent a small list of themes that my students are interested in understanding better.

My students are curious about their own and their classmates' cultures, which are covered in these books.

They want to learn and understand how we are different and how our differences impact us in a positive way when we collaborate. Restricting books that my students can relate to has a ripple effect. Therefore, we would like to have these books in our classroom library as well as for use in instruction, to broaden my students cultural competency.
