My Students

My students all have particular needs that bring challenges to their daily lives.

Often, it takes a lot of extra effort and creative thinking to provide them with experiences similar to typically developing students.

For instance, my students need more repetitions practicing a skill and specific lessons that teach social skills. They love to do interesting science projects, but they need modifications to be successful.

They are happy, joyful learners, and I love them all. I'm excited to bring them innovative activities to light up their futures and inspire them to keep doing hard things, thanks to donorschoose.org.

My Project

My students deserve the opportunity to try out skiing to see if it will be a good fitness activity for their lives. Winter is long in Alaska, and all kids should find a way to stay active outdoors. This field trip will take us to Challenge Alaska for skiing lessons.

My students could be successful skiing if they could access 1:1 instruction.

Challenge Alaska provided 1:1 instruction to meet the unique learning needs of my students.

Any time students learn something new or take on a challenge, they grow more confident and develop stronger learning characteristics. Having such an exciting personal experience translates into a motivating writing project back in the classroom.
