My Students

We are in a rural (farming) area of Wisconsin. Our classroom is full of 23 beautiful and busy kids with diverse abilities and backgrounds. Our families are good, working-class people who want what's best for our children. Our school district is growing rapidly and our class sizes are climbing. As our school grows larger we have not lost the small town feel.

Our school is a special place to be.

When walking through our halls are always greeted smiles and hellos. You are treated like family, because (like in many small towns) you are family. Our school mantra is Helping Everyone Succeed. Teachers, staff, administrators, parents, ​and students are all invested in working together to be a community of learners.

My Project

I am committed to using a Guided Math model in our classroom. To make this successful, we need to have math centers where students can practice concepts they have been taught. We need to have a variety of center activities to increase student engagement.

Fun, colorful and durable center activities allow all students to learn.

The Instant Math Centers from Lakeshore learning were created specifically for this purpose. I also create a lot of games and activities on my own or by printing them off the internet. Printer cartridges give me the ability to create additional center activities that meet my students needs. The classroom laminating machine will allow us to preserve the activities so they can be used by all students.
