Help me give my students base ten blocks, dry erase markers, pocket sleeves, fidget toys, laminating pouches, and card stock to create long-lasting and engaging centers that reinforce essential concepts.
Oh, how I love kindergarten! For many children, it is their first school experience. I work in a K-1 Title I School where many receive free and reduced price lunch. My students come in every day energized and ready to learn. It is amazing to watch doors in the mind open as you connect new ideas and witness them gaining reading skills and number sense. Kindergarten sets the foundation for a child’s education. I love their optimistic attitude - when things might be difficult all I have to ask is “Can we do it?” and with confidence they reply, “Yes, we can!”
My Project
Learning should be engaging and fun! The items requested in this project will provide materials that allow me to print off many fun resources and create hundreds of activities focused on a variety of concepts. With the resources, I can implement centers that provide students with opportunities to practice these concepts in fun game-like ways. Students will also benefit from centers by using team-work.
Visuals do matter!
The magnetic and foam base-ten blocks will also provide a better visual for students to understand place value early on. We count how many days we have been in school and this resource will provide an excellent visual to support student learning.
The items in this project are centered around student learning and will help support many students within my classroom in multiple ways.
