My students need Math Skills Test Prep Practice Cards, Division and Multiplication Centers, and File Folder Games so that they can work independently and begin to self regulate their learning.
I have a great group of 5th and 6th graders. My students range in academic skills from 1st grade level to 7th grade for reading and 2nd thru 5th grade level for math. We are a small urban school district. We have one middle school with around 300 students. Our middle school has been making great progress and has been acknowledged for annual academic progress.
Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings, a hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem, a hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity by Ricky Martin.
My students are funny, creative and full of energy. They are learning to use positive behaviors to help them transition back into general education classroom.
My Project
Science and social studies center activities are needed to continue the learning process independently. This will help them experience the curriculum needed in a different media form. The games are to show them that learning can be fun. I want them, to be as excited about learning as I am. The science and social studies file folder activities can put curriculum material Into their reach that will make it fun and exciting.
The math center activities are so that after a concept is taught they are able to practice the skill independently and with a peer.
Math is fun and exciting and they will feel the same way. My students struggle with multiplication and division fluency the division and multiplication center activities will help with closing that gap. The reading center activities will give students the extra practice on skills that are geared toward their academic skill level. Reading informational text game will help my students become better at reading for informational purposes. The centers will also give them the experience of self monitoring and self correcting skills needed to take them to the next level.
