My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of questions, ready to learn, excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything. Our class works together as a family and not just as individual students. My second grade students are lifelong learners. They enjoy coming to school and learning new things. They come to school prepared to do their very best work with plans of attaining their dreams. They work as a team to collaborate to meet their learning goals.

My Project

The last two years have been hard for elementary students to have neat handwriting. Much of what they have done has been on the computer or by watching videos of their teacher or viewing live meetings. My students' penmanship is hard to read, and they are frustrated with their lack of success. I would like to give them a tablet to practice correct letter formation using free downloaded apps and white boards to practice what they are learning.

These tools will give them what is needed for future success, since mastery of handwriting in the primary grades is key and trying to reteach them is harder for their muscle memory.

I strive to help my students any way I can. They put in the effort, and I need to be able to help them achieve their goals.
