Celebrating Talents of the Future

My students need supplies and stage decorations for our school-wide talent show. The leis, hula skirts, and backdrop banner will enhance the experience for all students.

My Students

The students have worked so hard this year to show their leadership skills and become leaders themselves. My goal for the students is to nurture them and provide a sense of self-worth. "The most exciting place to discover talent is in yourself."

I am currently a 1st-grade teacher at a K-8 school.

The students at my school have taught me so much this year about what it means to be a leader and how we can help one another reach our goals. Each day the students surprise me with their love of learning and discovering new things. All those who make up our school community are dedicated to helping students reach their goals, whether they are social, emotional, or academic. The students are our greatest priority, and their overall well-being is the most important goal we strive to achieve each and every day. The students in our school are so deserving of these supplies, and I know this will help us to increase student moral and interest in the arts. The positive interactions that students have with one another each day helps to increase their self-confidence and awareness of their impact on others. Every day we stress the importance of student collaboration and celebrate the work that is done.

My Project

The resources (leis, hula skirts, banner, and stage decorations) will be utilized to prepare the auditorium for the school-wide talent show. The students will be responsible for helping to design and decorate the stage for the performances. They will be working collaboratively with the staff to make decisions and share their ideas. This provides a opportunity for students to demonstrate their leadership skills and show a strong sense of civic responsibility. This donation will help to improve students' leadership skills and really help to establish a sense of accomplishment. The students will learn that everyone has the ability to do something special. We do not always realize that students have accomplishments outside of the classroom and that everyone has something of which to be proud. The talent show helps to increase students' self-confidence by recognizing their talents.

Through the resources we have requested, students will be able to showcase their talents and celebrate their efforts.

Participating in a talent show gives all students recognition for non-academic talents. It also provides character-building lessons and team-building experiences for students in all grades. The talent show is a great way to celebrate the performing talents of students.
