My Project

My students are incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly kids who love to learn! They work hard to practice their reading skills each day, and they love to borrow books from my classroom library in order to practice reading at home.

One of the best motivators for encouraging my students to read outside of school is providing books for them with characters who look like them and reflect their lives and culture!

My students get so excited when they see books that they can make a connection with on the bookshelves in my classroom. They know they matter and are appreciated for who they are in my room. That kind of acceptance empowers them to improve their reading and reach their goals. Most importantly, that is the kind of acceptance everyone deserves!
