Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When students and families move to a new country, our new students may encounter challenges in finding suitable hair care products for their specific hair types and textures.
Access to ethnic hair products can foster a sense of community and belonging among newcomers who share similar cultural backgrounds.
It provides them with a familiar and supportive environment where they can connect with others who understand their grooming needs and challenges.
People from different ethnic backgrounds often have diverse hair textures, ranging from curly to kinky or coily. Standard hair care products may not cater to these specific textures, leading to difficulties in managing and styling hair effectively. Having access to these products enables individuals to express themselves through different hairstyles and embrace their natural hair texture.
Access to ethnic hair products is essential for newcomers to feel confident, comfortable, and empowered in their new environment. It helps them maintain their cultural identity, promotes healthy hair care practices, and facilitates integration into their new community.
