My third graders are, in a word: amazing. They are energetic, passionate, and creative. Sometimes, their energy can be hard to match! They certainly keep me on my toes and it's never a dull moment.
These 17 kids make my world brighter each and every day.
They enjoy all aspects of school from reading and writing to math and recess. They are problem solvers and future world changers.
Each and every one of them has an incredible, bright future ahead of them and I look forward to celebrating their future accomplishments.
Our classrooms are beautifully diverse in so many ways, yet over 75% of the books in typical classroom libraries feature characters that are neither racially or culturally diverse. I am on a mission to change this in my classroom library
These new books will allow me to build an all-inclusive classroom library that allows my students to read stories that include all different types of people.
The books will mirror themselves, their friends, and the many people throughout our world. The books probably won't even make it into our classroom library, because as soon as we open the box, they'll be moving straight to students' book boxes for independent reading. I can already imagine the excitement on their faces in even my most struggling readers. They may even encourage those unexcited readers to be more voracious readers. Now who wouldn't want that?
