Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school will have a music class for the first time in history! My school is a high-poverty school and our students are in great need. Our population is very diverse and rich in many different cultures. Our English as a Second Language is one of the largest in the district having students from almost all continents. The students at our elementary are passionate, hard-working, and devoted.
The goal of our school is to build excellence and challenge kids, and that is just what we do!
My students can't wait to experience the magic of music and relate it to the other academic areas! It's going to be fun!
My Project
I want to expose my students to a variety of Music and Literacy genres by listening and reading music stories.
These CD players and headphones will allow my students to explore and experience Music and Literacy in a personal way.
My parents are struggling to make ends meet and must work two or more jobs, they have less time and energy to help their children with literacy. It's important for my students to hear stories through music to reinforce reading skills, vocabulary, and comprehension.
The area in which my school is located is increasingly being affected by the economy and help is needed.
