My Project

The items on this project may come across as random and disconnected, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. In my role as a school counselor, which I love, I work with a wide range of students who experience a wide range of "bumps" in the road at school and home. One small group that I work with has major anxiety centered around the weather and safety. We are constantly using the color ink from our color printer to plot out weather maps and study the weather. We are also using several different weather apps and websites to follow the weather. The students are concerned that the weather radio we currently have is not up to the challenge of alerting us to sudden severe weather. We also spend some time monitoring the cameras that are located around the school. We currently have a 16-camera view on a regular monitor and the students struggle to see what they need to see to feel "safe." These students are making such great progress, I am hoping these items will only extend that progress and elevate it. I included a dehumidifier for our office area to ensure that all the items we are receiving can be kept in our office, which at times can have issues with unwanted humidity.
