My Students

A typical day in our classroom is focused around reading and math. We have an hour and a half for reading stations and 30 minutes for math stations plus our two hour reading block and one hour math block. We work hard to make sure we meet our expectations and standards everyday.

My students work so hard!

We are a Title I school. The students are determined to never stop trying their best. They are very eager to learn. I love seeing the growth in first graders throughout the year!

My Project

We are requesting books that will be a great incentive in class to make students excited about reading. As they are near the end of first grade, they are becoming stronger readers. They are able to start reading chapter books.

The Boxcar Children is a great mystery series that I can see many of my students enjoying.

It was one of my favorite series as a kid that made me finally begin to enjoy reading!

The Magic Tree House books have been a hit every year with my students. They love to read them and over the years a few books have gone missing so we are missing quite a few.

The students being able to read both of these series either with me or in the classroom, will help them become stronger readers and hopefully find a love for reading!
