I had multiples sets of fraction pieces that we used as we learned about fraction operations. Student getting to have thier own set was pivitol, especially for my struggling learners. We got to better visualize the fractions while using the pieces in small group. My higher students enjoyed using the grids. I find I get better engagement when students get to write and be hands on with their learning. \r\n\r\nStudents were exicted to see so many boxes arrive in the mail with the materials. It is not often we get a bunch of new things, so they were very excited to use them! \r\n\r\nI will continue to use the task card books with my ELA class as a quick review and test prep throughout the year. \r\n\r\nI am extremely grateful for your contributions to my classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1731544475157,"projectUrl":"project/manipulative-magic/8908745/","projectTitle":"Manipulative Magic!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Finley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8802096_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y304&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665965051601","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8802096"},{"teacherId":8513229,"projectId":6537396,"letterContent":"The use of Weebly Wobbly alternative seating during small group instruction in mykindergarten classrooms has had a notable impact on engagement, behavior, and learning outcomes. Here's how it supports small group instruction:\r\n\r\n1. Increased Focus and Engagement\r\nAlternative seating allows children to move slightly while seated, which helps channel their natural energy in a non-disruptive way. This can lead to improved attention spans during small group lessons, where focus is critical due to the personalized and interactive nature of instruction.\r\n\r\n2. Supports Self-Regulation\r\nKindergartners often struggle with sitting still for extended periods. Weebly Wobbly seating helps students self-regulate their sensory needs, reducing restlessness and helping them stay calm and attentive, particularly in small group settings where the teacher is working closely with just a few students.\r\n\r\n3. Promotes Positive Behavior\r\nFlexible seating options can decrease off-task behavior, such as fidgeting, talking out of turn, or leaving the group. When students feel more comfortable, they are more likely to follow directions and participate appropriately, which supports a more productive small group dynamic.","fullyFundedDate":1657583178544,"projectUrl":"project/weebly-wobbly-alternative-seating-for-k/6537396/","projectTitle":"Weebly Wobbly: Alternative Seating for Kindergartners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8513229_orig.jpg?crop=1118,1118,x0,y190&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1656624031203","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8513229"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_6733","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":912,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.7,"schoolId":6733,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Waterway Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Waterway Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/horry-county-school-district/north-myrtle-beach-interm-school/6733"}
