My Project

I love my middle and high school students' authenticity and resilience. They show up every day navigating complex emotions, social pressures, and personal challenges, yet they remain curious and willing to grow. I admire their honesty when given a safe space to share, their courage to be vulnerable during difficult conversations, and their capacity for empathy when they connect with peers' experiences.

What strikes me most is their hunger for connection—not just academically, but emotionally.

They want to be seen, heard, and valued. When we create the right conditions, they rise to meet meaningful challenges and support one another in powerful ways.

Some of the most authentic conversations happen when students are relaxed and sharing food together. Snacks create natural bonding moments that break down social barriers and help students see each other as whole people, not just classmates. This sense of community strengthens their ability to practice empathy, active listening, and relationship skills.

Snacks remove barriers so students can focus on what matters most: their social and emotional growth. This resource will directly enhance our Relaxation Station project, funded by DonorsChoose in 2024, by completing the holistic support system we've built for students
