This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our motivated string students at Germantown Elementary are dedicated musicians who show immense commitment by wanting to take their instruments home for practice. They are eager to take good care of the school's instruments, but they face a significant hurdle: damaged and unreliable instrument cases.

The Critical Problem

Most of our students' current cases are in poor, barely usable condition.

Risk of Damage: Damaged cases offer little to no protection. This makes it incredibly difficult for students to keep their instruments safe from accidental bumps, drops, or weather as they transport them between home and school. The higher the risk of damage, the more the music program has to spend on costly repairs, or worse, replacements.

Impediment to Practice: When students cannot safely transport their instruments, they are often unable to take them home to practice. This directly hinders their musical progress and enthusiasm.

The Solution: Durable New Cases

We are seeking funds to purchase durable, reliable cases for our string players.

Investing in new cases is an investment in security, responsibility, and student success. New cases will:

Ensure Safety: Provide the necessary protection, securing valuable instruments against damage while being moved.

Enable Practice: Empower students to confidently and safely take their instruments home, supporting consistent practice and accelerating their musical development.

Build Responsibility: Show our students that we value their instruments and their commitment, reinforcing the lesson of how to properly care for musical tools.

Help us provide the safety net our hardworking students need so they can focus on making beautiful music!
