Having a clean, comfortable, colorful space to sit helps them focus, feel safe, and engage fully in our lessons. Providing students with choices and a flexible way to learn ensures that I am building a safe and comfortable classroom environment. This rug has now benefited two different groups of learners. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, we have been able to integrate art into learning with the anchor chart paper. This has allowed for students to have an access point to learning no matter what their prior knowledge is. Students have utilized materials in both literacy and math to have a rich learning experience. Retelling stories by creating settings with the anchor chart paper has been a favorite amongst students. The students love finding their special seat and I love that they have a defined space to help them be a successful learner. Throughout the day, we gather on our rug for whole group learning and students love bringing materials to the rug to play with. We end our day on our rug for one final meeting, saying goodbye and see you tomorrow on our central meeting space. \r\n\r\nYour donations have brought joy and beauty to our classroom. Students will love this rug for years to come.
