Carpet Time for Kindergarten

My students need a carpet to enhance our learning environment. This carpet will allow students to sit comfortably while learning and playing together.

My Students

Class kicks off with a morning meeting at the carpet. My students have many stories to share and friends to greet. A beautiful carpet creates a functional and comfortable environment for peer interactions and whole class meeting times.

My classroom hosts two classes of five and six year old children.

Students in my class come from many different backgrounds and experiences. We are considered a low-income school, but are rich in character and diversity, and have a deep care for our school and our community.

My Project

I cannot wait to see my 5 and 6 year old students sitting on this carpet. We will learn how to listen and share ideas, the importance of raising our hands (I'm sure we'll revisit this time and time again), and how to interact with our peers. I will be able to say "turn to your carpet partner" and the dots on the carpet will allow this action to occur with ease, helping maximize our learning time. We will listen to wonderful read alouds and interact with the SMARTBoard. Time on our carpet will be loved by all.
