Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students live in a low-income neighborhood. Almost all of our school receives free lunch. Part of my job is to not only help my students learn academics, but also learn to be kind. Before Christmas, one of my students came to me and expressed a desire to make care kits for the homeless. As a faculty, we came up with supplies to create ten small kits before Christmas.

This project will help with the creation of forty-eight care kits to help those in need around our school survive the winter.

Complete with hats, gloves and hygiene products, these kits will be a blessing. This student is going to lead a larger group of students in creating the care kits and dispersing them to those in need. It is an important lessons to learn: you always are able to help in some way.
