Care Closet Needed Items

Help me give my students items for the school's CARE CLOSET. The Care Closet is a safe place for students to get personal items they may need that their family cannot provide at home.

My Students

My classes are a lively bunch of eighth-graders living on the Big Island of Hawaii. The students come from diverse backgrounds all over the Pacific, Asia, and US mainland. Most come from low-income households with limited ability to purchase school supplies.

My students are ohana (family) oriented individuals that love working in groups and interacting with one another through technology.

They love opportunities to engage in their learning beyond typical direct instruction. My students strive to do their best with what is (or is not) provided by both the school and at home. I am very proud and honored to be their teacher.

My Project

Our school serves a low-income population and there are families that cannot support their child's basic hygiene or clothing needs. Staff at our school have set up a Care Closet where students can get toothbrushes, deodorant, shoes, or whatever other personal items they may need.

Our school is in need of sandals (girl & boy) and girls' pants so that when students need them we have them in the Care Closet.

These items will serve a student population of over 600 students. Thank you very much for your support!
