Mr. Cedric Suttle from Atlanta GA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a chance to broadcast morning announcements for the entire school to view.

I fuel young women's fire with the will to win in life through the power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education. We are a single-gender (female), 100% Title I school which houses young women in grades 6-12 from the inner-city of the westside of Atlanta, Georgia.
STEM is not a boys game and its not a girls game, its an everybody game; girls just have NEXT!
I am joyed to teach about 70 young ladies daily who have the imagination, the creativity, and curiosity to go on and do all they can with the power of STEM Education. But most importantly they want to use education to improve their lives and live the life they want to live.
These young women are beautiful - inside and out - and believe they can not be held back due to circumstances beyond their control. Despite all the odds stacked against them, they believe and know they can be smart. Everyday I am surprised, impressed, motivated, and elated to have the opportunity to learn from them and teach them.
I am requesting a microphone, camcorder and video light and stand so they can broadcast morning announcements for the entire school to view. Students (especially young ladies) LOVE to see themselves on camera!
This donation will allow students to use state of the art video equipment to understand the processes of creating video content.
The young ladies will use the equipment to make digital stories about their culture and community. Students will learn how to compose video shots and edit their video to tell a compelling story about their community. The young ladies will gain confidence in their communication skills by having the opportunity to produce a story using current technology.
The video equipment will make a difference at my school by affording the ladies the opportunity to work with technology that is used by professionals everyday.
Having current video equipment will raise the standard and prepare students to communicate effectively. The ladies will improve their collaboration, language arts and technology skills by producing stories that matter to them. Students will then be able to share their stories online and at school during the daily morning broadcast.
