This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My middle school students can sometimes try to act too grown. They are quick to try to leave behind their childish nature. But we adults know that growing up isn't all it's cracked up to be. PE is a great way to remind them how to play.
All my students will smile when playing a game that involves rubber fish.
You can't help but give in to your inner child with items that are fun. Funny items can allow students to let loose and laugh. The bright colors will remind them of how it feels to enjoy the simple delights.
It's amazing to see the change in students who enter the gym grumpy and leave with a smile. The world needs more places for people to play and I'm happy our gym can be one of those safe spaces.
