Can You See???

My students need an ELMO projector in science class to be able to visually see the smallest item that I may have to show them in science class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My school is a public school within a very large school district in which resources are very limited. My school is in a low income area of a very large city. Our school's free and reduce lunch is over 80%. Technology in my school is a joke! Teacher's computers are out dated and our overhead projectors are falling apart. I have my own lab top which I use and any new technology I get is a treasure.

My students deserve to have technology just like other college bound high school students in our district do. Technology will help students acquire the skills necessary for classes in college. In this age of technology it is so important to show students what is available in our world around us. With very limited supplies and technology support I want to change my young scientist of today and bring in technology they may not have seen. Even the simplest form of technology will open their eyes to the world around us and help them become interested in thing they can not see. As my students become aware of what is around us hopefully their thoughts of college will be open to them too.

I would like to have an ELMO projector in my classroom. An ELMO projector is like an overhead projector except what you are projecting doesn't have to be transparent. Students will be able to use this to project their work for the class to see and to see small objects too. This is an awesome teaching tool that allows students to learn visually and hands-on. Students are also very inspired to get to share and show their work to their peers. This project would be a great addition to my class!

Please make this reality come true for my students, whom would love to investigate and see science come alive to them. They will be able to use ELMO in many different way that will increase their knowledge and inquiry skills in science. There are no replacements for hands on activities in a science class.
