My Students

I teach at a charter school where my classroom is full of fun, bright, energetic, and curious students ranging from Kindergarten to 9th grade. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have different learning styles and needs. Engaging learning activities and respect in the classroom are the secret to our success, being able to help my special education students reach their highest potential is my passion.

My students come to my classroom to gain more confidence in their abilities, find their superpowers, and learn to navigate a sometimes confusing world.

They work hard, help others, and play hard. No matter what we are learning about, my students fearlessly dive into the topic and give it their all. I take pride in creating an atmosphere of respect, love, and taking chances. I am thrilled to be able to provide meaningful learning experiences, and through them instill a love of learning, teach them to care for and help others, and help them to be a person who positively contributes to our local and global communities.

My Project

Covid has created bigger groups in my special education classroom, especially in the 2nd and 3rd grades.

Having the projector and document cameras will help my students stay socially distanced and still be immersed in what we are doing during direct and small group instruction.

Everyone in the classroom having the same view of classwork will create an environment where distractions are minimized and focus across the classroom is maintained. In small groups the document cameras will assist those leading those groups to be able to direct the attention of the students away from what is happening around the classroom to the individualized lessons being taught.
