Students at my school come from a working-class neighborhood that is very well integrated. They are every color of the rainbow and come from multiple backgrounds. One thing they have in common is that many of their families are working multiple jobs and having trouble making ends meet.
Teachers, counselors, and other staff members frequently purchase basic needs items for students who are not able to receive them from their families.
This school uses a program of catching students doing the right thing. There is an ongoing conversation about "being a bucket filler" by doing good things. They receive incentive "bucks" for good behavior and deeds.
I want my students to have the same fun, exciting, and wonderful experiences I had when I was in school. School should be fun and safe for all students to learn.
My Project
My student will be getting some new technology into the classroom this year, and we will need headphones to go along with it. Students will be able to use headphones with computers, Yogas, and iPads. The student will be able to use nice headphones that don't break or that the earpiece doesn't fall off. We will also need wipes to keep our headphones clean.
Students will be able to hear what they are learning about with new technology in the classroom.
Students will be able to sit in reading areas and read with Kindles and not disturb other students. Students will also have the chance to win earbuds and other prizes for reading AR points. Students will also be able to play learning games with Yogas and iPads quietly.
