This year's class and I have a lot in common- it's our first time in kindergarten! Our community is a small, rural one, with the majority of our students coming from a low socioeconomic background. For many of the students, it is their first experience in a school setting and their experiences in our classroom will help to set the tone for their entire schooling. Together we will make it a positive experience!
Young learners find an unabashed joy in exploring the world around them.
Every child deserves to have that joy fostered by the adults in their life. As the students in our room view the world from their own unique perspectives, I look forward to seeing what each child's exploration brings to light.
The year is underway and our young students have already put in many hours of hard work growing their academic skills. Each day that they come to school and whether they know it or not, they leave each day with more knowledge than they had before walking through the front doors.
Come testing time, our students deserve to have a distraction-free chance to display their academic growth.
This project will help provide kindergarten and first-grade students at our school with headphones that don't hurt, pinch, or fall off of their ears as they are trying to show what they know. And let me tell you, they have an awful lot to show!
