My Students

Did you ever have dreams of being the next "The Voice" winner or had aspirations of being as talented on a string instrument as Yo-Yo Ma? Many of our students have those same desires to perform and want to use music as an avenue to express themselves, as well as enjoy the enrichment and fun that music brings into their lives.

Our students are creative, innovative, and anxious for hands-on learning.

In our classroom, we build upon social skills and the fact that music incorporates all the subjects: math, science, history, culture, art, communication, language, physical education, technology, etc.

My Project

Music is the rhythm of life that all students need to hear and experience. My project will allow all students in the classroom to listen to computer audio and the music being studied. Students currently hear audio through a '90's Sony boombox that only has one working speaker. In a room with approximately 30+ students, music and audio is often difficult to hear. The new sound system will provide a way for all students to hear important parts of the instructor's lesson.

Our classroom is a place where students are encouraged to listen to, create, perform and enjoy various genres of music.

Listening is a major component to learning, especially music. Ensuring that all students are able to hear the music and audio that accompanies a lesson is an essential component in motivating students to learn more.

A classroom sound system will allow our musicians to increase their learning by being able to hear sound adequately, enhancing their abilities to stay on task and experience the rhythm of music and spoken language.
