My Students

I serve 100 English language learners at my school. This project would benefit all of my students, as well as my entire school. My school serves kids, 78% of whom qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch, and it is located in a needy community.

The one thing they all have in common is the drive to learn English.

They are truly amazing!

Our student population is about 50% Hispanic, 25% Cambodian, and the rest a wonderful blend of everything from Russian to Chinese. They come from different countries and backgrounds.

My Project

Our distruct provided headsets do not work with our new laptops. Help my students have microphone noise canceling headsets that allow them to record themselves in English .

Every year all of my students must take an ELL test that measures their skills in listening,reading ,writing ,and speaking English.

Students take this annual test each year to monitor their growth. In addition, students that are new to our state must have this assessment as a baseline within 10 days of their arrival. These headsets would allow my students to have clear and accurate recordings. These headphones work with our new computers and will cancel out other sounds while recording only the student’s voice.
