Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are bright, full of wonder and curiosity. They are happy little bundles of joy. In spite of the many challenges they face growing up in a low-income, high-poverty part of our city, with parents who many times are struggling to provide for their families, my students show up to school every day eager and motivated to learn.
My students are our future, and in order for them to have a chance to be successful in the real world, they need learning opportunities that challenge them and prepare them for our evolving world full of technology and innovative jobs.
My goal is to provide them with as many tools and experiences as possible so that they may begin to build a solid foundation that will better prepare them for the many challenges ahead and beyond. The social and economic differences are evident in the academic gaps my students struggle with, but I want to give my students access to the same opportunities many others have in other parts of the world.
My Project
Help me give my students headphones to use with our computers. Many times many of the programs we have downloaded require headphones, but our students are limited in the amount of headphones we have that they are unable to work on these programs. Our students miss out on many educational opportunities offered by many apps because of insufficient headphones allocated to our classroom. My students would love to have their own personal headphones, especially when they want to use storybook online to get lost in a world of imagination. Please consider my class and help us get closer to our goal.
