Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am requesting a wireless microphone for their rehearsals, musical presentations and dance performances.
My students come from multiple ethnic backgrounds and religions.
They have had limited exposure to museums, concerts, theater, and dance, yet they love the arts and they are quickly progressing through classes that are equipping them with the necessary skills they need to become proficient dancers, singers, actors, and artists.
Virtually all of the students in our student body will require some form of significant financial aid to attend even a state college.
Many of them are working over 20 hours a week while in high school to help support their families. Some are able to balance this with taking AP classes.
My Project
I am requesting a wireless microphone for their musical presentations and dance performances.
The students are excited about musical theater and dance. A good wireless microphone enables rehearsals to flow easier. When the students can hear the instructions above the music they learn the materials quicker and more accurately.
The wireless microphone we are requesting (and sound system recently funded) can be easily transported for performances.
Students will be able to participate in something that they love and that they want to share with others.
Apart from widening their dance and music repertoires, students will learn to work together with others as teams and they will develop great time management systems as they rehearse and perfect materials for performances that will also develop their self esteem.
