There are two components to this project. A couple of adaptors to many different inputs available and a couple of high quality headphones. My classroom is slowly getting some computers and new computers have few and few input options and they are moving to USBC. Lots of our tools and electronic instrument makers are still with the USB inputs. Headphones are so that students can concentrate on what they are doing without distractions.
Adapters will expand the options we have for multiple device styles and the headphones will allow students to focus on their own project with out trying to hear their work while others are working.
There are so many different types of hardware and everything uses a different input. With adapters we can use keyboards, launchpads, visual aids, different microphones and headphones, etc. I've found that the more options I can provide the better chance I have of finding something for each student.
Even though students may disagree, it is very difficult to concentrate on your own projects with a bunch of other distractions going on. The louder your turn up the computer volume, the louder other people do too and chaos ensues. Headphones, will not only bring the sound levels down, but they can hear their music how it should sound. It will be easier to make minute edits and it can truly be what they want to hear.
I'm always amazed at the creativity of my students and their ability to adapt to a host of situations. This project will help my students to adapt their surrounding to an environment that they can be successful learning and composing masterpieces.
