My Students

Our school is host to a large population of English Language Learners, and autism students. We as teachers strive to differentiate the instruction for each of these students, and to engage in learning that they can connect to within the world around them. Lastly, our school is also host to a large trauma population. We as teachers strive to support each of our students’ emotional, social, and personal needs. We also strive to differentiate our instruction to meet any academic needs each student needs.

My 4th grade students in particular are eager to learn new content, and strive to the best that they can be through every subject.

My students are engaged in topics, and participate in deep discussion about topics we are studying.

My Project

These materials will be used to help continue learning and working. Our class has ran out of some materials, need others replaced, and don't have enough materials for whole class activities.

Our class set of headphones need to be replaced, and due to the pandemic, we use our headphones more often with our laptops.

In addition, we don't have enough headphones due to some needing to be thrown away. Thus, when we have class activities such as watching Nearpod lessons, videos, and online educational games we don't have enough headphones for everyone so that we can listen comfortably. Lastly, we don't have a space to store the headphones we do have. It would be much easier to have a dedicated space for everyone to have their own headphones in their own numbered slot. Thus if we had these headphones, and storage space we would be able to participate in more engaging activities with our laptops that are more student paced instead of teacher paced. This would allow for greater understanding, and more opportunities for questions to be asked and answered during student paced activities.

I am also asking for general school supplies to help restock needed materials, and to receive new materials to help make educational board games more engaging by using colored game pieces. Previously, students have had to use pencil top erasers and paperclips as game pieces, but with these new items students will be able to use more appropriate materials instead of needed supplies.

Lastly, I am asking for photo frames to use as a dedicated space to write our class objectives. Currently I am using the whiteboard to do so, and sometimes I have to erase them to make room for notes, illustrations, posters, and anchor charts.
