This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our 5th and 6th grade school is made up of a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds and abilities! I am lucky enough to be working with students in a Read 180 classroom - helping my students to become better readers!

Even though my students are hard-working, they don't always have access to the resources needed to help them to reach their potential.

I want the best for my students, and try to think outside of the box for ways to help them be successful!

My Project

During our Read 180 class, students use their iPads on a daily basis - practicing their reading, speaking, and listening. As part of the blended-learning lesson, students spend 20-minutes daily on an online program - Student Application.

The audio from the online program can get loud and distracting for most of the students.

By having their own headphones, my students will be able to focus more on their own reading and online activities without as many distractions from their classmates.

I would love for my students to be able to direct their energy to their online lesson and the importance of becoming a better reader, instead of taking time to worry about how they’re going to find the money to buy their own headphones. This would take away one stress from their already stressful lives.
