My students need speakers to hear anything I am trying to play. Our classroom speakers were old to begin with but we played our last video with audible sound almost 2 months ago.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a low income area where my children face many challenges in and out of the classroom. The general lack of educational resources at home makes it more important that they have the necessary tools at school to equip them with the skills necessary in this high tech world we live in. Access to updated technology will help my students gain the necessary tools to help them in all subject areas.
Access to new technology and materials will help my students receive a similar educational experience to their counterparts in more affluent communities.
My students come into my classroom at a disadvantage in their general knowledge and vocabulary. I do the best I can with what I am given to get them to near or on the same playing field as others.
These materials will assist them in gaining the skills that are needed to function and excel in today's society and, in turn, help to close the education gap between our inner city school and surrounding affluent communities.
My Project
I am a teacher who loves to incorporate technology in any way and in any lesson I can to help my students become more engaged in the learning process. My Smartboard, an interactive whiteboard for the classroom, has not worked since the first week of school. However, I have pulled everything not nailed down to get video and sound for my littles to learn.
Recently, the only speakers I had stopped working and it is a necessity to have them to engage students with the information being presented.
The volume on my computer is not loud enough to allow them to comment on what they see and hear. I often ask them to watch in silent the first time and then let them watch again to comment the second time. Speakers will let them enjoy a video for learning, but also allow them to enjoy the sounds.
