Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at the tip of Texas, bordering Mexico, where my students speak Spanglish (English Language Learners). They face many challenges such as dyslexia, special needs, and are socioeconomically disadvantaged, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming big. Nevertheless, my students are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement!
My second-grade students are eager for knowledge and filled with curiosity and desire to learn.
They are ready to make things happen with dragging, swiping, and clicking. My 2nd graders have been given the opportunity to use iPads in the classroom and at home. Thus, they have shown an eagerness that has sparked their imagination and eagerness that has enhanced different styles of learning. Educational technology has opened a pathway into learning that nurtures their creativity and helps promote high order thinking and problem-solving skills. The possibilities are endless!
My Project
Quality audio is essential, especially for online learning and teaching. Clear audio matters in the classroom and is the foundation for effective learning and essential to student achievement. The headphones would be used for online instruction through Google Meets or other platforms currently being used to help enhance the speaker's pronunciation, tone, inflection which enables the students to better comprehend and have the self-confidence when speaking.
With improved classroom audio, a teacher's voice results in exceptional improvement as well as listening to the feedback given by students.
The classroom and the audio both have a major impact on sound quality so it is imperative my students can hear me clearly.
