My students need robots to increase their coding and problem solving skills.

My Students

People often ask me why I commute so far away to teach when I could work in a much more affluent community closer to where I live. The simple answer is because I have never been a happier teacher than when I'm with my students. They make me smile, laugh, sing and dance, and challenge me every day.

There are five different primary languages in my homeroom this year.

The entire district receives free breakfast and lunch due to high poverty levels and there's no where else I'd rather be.

My Project

I teach in a school where we strongly emphasize and value the importance of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) driven curriculum. There is never enough funding for us to get the high-quality, hands-on activities that are so vital to STEM teaching and learning.

With these robotics kits, students will be able to build their problem-solving skills and use the design process to code a program.

Many think that coding is too hard for children, however I have seen first hand in my students that even a 6 year old can be a robotics engineer and a computer scientist.
