"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." ~ Dr. Seuss. Please help me fund my project for flexible seating in my classroom!
I teach first grade in a high poverty area of Pennsylvania.
There are 23 students in my classroom. Our building houses children in grades 1 -2. Every student in our building receives a free lunch and breakfast. These students are amazing and never stop fascinating me. They are loving, hard working, and always appreciate the simple things in life. School supplies are always needed and are sometimes hard to come by. The teachers in my building strive to provide comfortable, loving, educational work areas for every student. We say that our classroom doors aren't just doors that open up into a room, but doors that open to a home full of learning. Our classrooms are our homes.
My Project
I am asking for hands on learning materials. A child friendly magnetic board/stand, roller coaster building set, and a magnetic path builder. These items will give my students a chance to have fun while learning. They will be engaged in learning and excited to see what they are able to make and find out how things work. They will be able to create things and learn while using these hands on STEM materials.
We will not only build with our hands, but our minds as we create roller coasters and magnet mazes!
Students will be able to use the materials during our morning learning centers.
