My Students

Hello! I am a first-grade teacher at a title one Project Lift school. Every single student receives free breakfast and lunch. Project Lift was created because of the disparity in academic performance in my school district. Its goal is to ensure each child reaches a growth of a year and a half so they will be prepared for the following year and later, college and career ready.

For most of my students, a school is a place where they feel safe because of its consistency.

My students are enthusiastic and eager learners who enjoy hands-on culturally relevant lessons and activities that relate to their diverse backgrounds.

My Project

I am fortunate enough to be part of a school that puts the social and emotional well-being of a child at the forefront of our teaching. My school's improvement plan has a focus on raising our efforts to target the social and emotional child as a whole.

As a first year teacher, I have reflected on my year so far and have decided to take the initiative and be proactive in my journey in becoming an exceptional educator for my students.

Participating in this professional development will give me the tools I need to develop into the social-emotional competent educator I need to be to grow my scholars. Engaging in this workshop will benefit my students by helping me understand how to assist my scholars in navigating the complex situations they encounter.
