Can Tables and Seat Choice Really Make a Difference?
My students need a variety of new tables to experience a learning environment that will allow them to understand the importance of self selected seating, and how it effects their learning.
My students come from a variety of ethnic and financial backgrounds, but we have a classroom family environment! My students range from a 1st grade ability level to a 7th grade ability level. I can already see an amazing environment beginning to take root. I can't wait to see how Donorschoose will transform my room into a learning journey. My students are starting to see that they are suppose to monitor their learning. I am so excited that they willing ask questions and I enjoy our lunch and learn time. I only have a 180 days to grow their confidence in their ability and to help them find life long learning stragies that will help way beyond my classroom door.
My Project
If given these tables I will begin to transform our learning environment into a learning experience! When my students come in, I want to give them a unique environment to grow in. This environment will be set up to meet a variety of needs, and will help each child begin to evaluate his/her personal learning preferences. We all have places we like to complete needed tasks as adults, but what a difference we can make helping students gain the self awareness through a unique classroom set up. We can teach reponsibility in choice and awareness of learning style! I believe in helping children become aware of strategies that enhance learning and the ability to investigate opportunities that may positively affect learning or hinder their learning students do have the ability to start identifying what works for them. That skill can follow them through life as much as any academic skill I can teach. Help me grow our future with an environment that allows self investigation.
