My students need a chance to end their Middle School career making memories that will last a lifetime by attending this special event made just for them.
I teach at a middle school where we have diverse student levels of learning, but have succeeded in staying an 'A' school since it has opened. Our school is located on a lake and we are able to provide our students with opportunities most schools are not privileged to.
With the high expectations we set, our students rise to those standards no matter his or her background, race, ethnicity, gender.
I am proud to teach at our middle school, we have a waiting list of over 1,000 who are trying to get a seat, because many are realizing just how "special" and rigorous our school has become.
My Project
One last chance to enjoy the life of being in middle school before it all slips away... we are trying to provide an 8th Grade "graduation" bash that will last forever in their hearts! With each year our 6th graders are able to have an experience at a camp that helps them to build relationships and figure out where they fit in with this new chapter in their lives. We want to extend a new tradition to our 8th graders and as they end their middle school career that will allow them to make memories at that same camp. This time it isn't about building relationships, but reflection and appreciate on how blessed they were these last 3 years. It will be a time to celebrate their accomplishments and build a lifetime of memories to carry them to high school. This experience will give them one last chance to be with their friends that they have made over the years before they go separate ways to different high schools. Not all of our students will be able to afford the cost, but we want to be able to offer it to all of the 8th grade class to attend together. Please help us start this new tradition!
