This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The child has a hundred languages..." -Loris Malaguzzi. Children speak to us in words, pictures, actions, drawings, and the creative arrangement of the materials and environment in which they exist.

Children in my K0/K1 classroom in East Boston are excited to begin school.

Some enter this new education world nervous and shy; others with seemingly boundless energy. All of them bring unique experiences and creativity that contribute to a classroom culture that fosters a love of life-long learning. East Boston is rich in diversity and services many of the cities low income families.

My Project

Children show their learning through the projects they create. In order to be an effective educator, I need a means to capture that work and save it to create portfolios for each child. A high quality camera would allow me to photograph art projects, sculptures, story scenes, and children at play.

With the addition of a high quality camera to document student work, our the educators in our room will be able to more effectively track student learning and share this learning with students and parents.
