My Students

My students are always ready to learn about the Spanish language and culture. They want to learn how to say different phrases about themselves, school and home/personal lives. They are always ready to describe many day to day happenings. Of course my students have to learn the school provided curriculum but, But my students find it more enjoyable to learn Spanish through project based assignments. They love to share with their peers what they have learned by creating presentations and then presenting them using the Spanish language and showing pictures.

My Project

A picture is worth a thousand words is an English saying that is familiar to all of us. However my students need a Canon - EOS Rebel T6 DSLR Camera with extra lens and bag for class projects and class assignments in our Spanish class. The students would use the camera for taking pictures and telling stories in Spanish. These pictures will also be great visuals for presentations. You can pair photos with text to create comprehensible input. Choose a focused photograph and write a caption using familiar words in a simple sentence. The idea is that the caption can only be interpreted in limited ways. Of course, you will also point to the photograph to help kids understand. Follow up with questions kids can answer by pointing, such as ¿Dónde está …?.
