Calming Room!

Help me give my students comfortable places to sit and calm down. Small activities that they can do for 5-10 minutes to help relieve stress that they may have.

My Students

This school year, I am working with another special education teacher to create a calming environment for the 30 students that we work with. We have a room that we are working on creating a space where students can go to take small breaks when needed.

Many of our students come to our room for support and guidance when they are feeling overwhelmed and stressed.

Our hope for this space is to create a spot where they can come whenever they need to.

My Project

The products that I have selected will help me to create a space where students can go and take 10-15 minutes to calm down/ reduce any stress or anxiety. The white noise machine will allow us to block out any other noises that are coming from other rooms. The puzzles and art materials will allow students to work on something that isn't homework.

I have seen how allowing students to have a small break in their day, can help keep them motivated and focused on what they need to do for the day.
