My name is Lynsey Hoines and I am a High School Special Education Teacher. I am co-teaching a Strategic Reading Class. This class is designed to help struggling readers enhance their reading skills. I am hoping to help build a classroom library for this class. Many students don't like to read. With computer games and the technology world, I feel that reading is a hobby that many kids don't get excited about. I want my students to find books they like, and I want them to get excited and passionate about reading. I feel I need a broad range of reading books to reach more students. Starting a library would give my students a larger selection so they could find a book they are interested in reading. I want to help students who struggle with reading or hate reading to become better readers and actually read as a hobby as they will use this skill throughout their lives.
